Nervous about entering a mountain bike race, because you are a beginner, or not terribly fit, or never raced before???

The FFLL for you. This race series is all about fun, fun and more fun. We highly encourage ALL levels of rider to enter. We start the fit/expert riders off first, so you won't get caught up in the mad dash out of the start zone.

Also, prizes are given for random participation and fancy dressed. There's a small block of choc for the first placed man & women in each category, but better prizes for just entering. We do a post race raffle using you race plate.

So come along and give MTB racing a go.

Keep Rollin' Rollin' Rollin.

Kids loop. This was a great feature of the first FFLL series. We had about 6-8 kids racing last year.

3-4kms long. Any age can complete on the kids loop, though it's not a bmx track, it's MTBing. The track is relatively easy, but there is some climbing and descending. And parts of the loop are shared with the Main and Easy loop. A suitable bike is required.

Cost is the same, and a MTBA race license or day license is required. Best sign them up for the free trial membership. This covers them for all three rounds.

Parents are welcome to ride the kids loop with their kids. If you are riding with a registered kid (and just following them around the kids loop), you don't need to register yourself.
#This offer is only open to parents/guardians with kids registered to race on the night. No race plate will be given and your times not recorded.
Keep Rollin' Rollin' Rollin.

Hey Tim,
Just wondering how the volunteer numbers are looking for the first round.
I'm more than happy to help out again if need be, just let me know if you require marshals or anything.
Cheers,
Thomas

Thanks Thomas.

Same deal as FFLL 2014 series, If you volunteer for a non racing job for 1 round, you get FREE entry into the other 2 rounds. (a race license is still required though).

Volunteer jobs for each round:

Non racing jobs:
Course marshall - 6pm to 8pm (Marshall at key junctions) 3 vols needed
Timing - 5:30pm to 8:30pm
Rego - 5:30pm to 7pm

Volunteering but can still compete:
Course set up - 4pm to 6pm (Can be done on your bike. Putting signs and tape up at key junctions). 3 vols needed.
Sweep - 7:45pm to 8:15pm (look for stranded riders, pull down the signs and tape) 2 vols needed.
Car park entry - 5pm to 6pm (until the Scouts take over)

Please let me know what you are keen to do, and in which round can help.

Cheers,

Tim

Thanks Tim,

I'll put my hand up for course marshal or car park duties for the first race definitely.
If the vol numbers are good for the next two I'll ride, but if more assistance is required I'll help out again.
I can probably help out a bit with the set-up too as I'm usually pottering around the Comm Games side about 5ish.

Cheers and thanks for organising the fun times

Thomas

Dinner will again be provided by the awesome Narre Warren Scout group, and their awesome BBQ trailer. Make sure you support them and buy a snag or 4. They also have cold cans for sale.

Plenty of parking is available on the night, in the big gravel car park at the end of Hallan Nth Rd. A gold coin donation to the scouts upon entry.

This is a super family friendly event. Plenty of room for the little kids to bring their bikes and ride around the transition area.

And lots of great photo ops for the budding sporst photographers out there. We'd love to get a copy of any pics taken to share with the club.

Keep Rollin' Rollin' Rollin.

Hi Tim, this would be my first race/lysty event besides trail builds. I am happy to help volunteer for any of the 'volunteering but can still compete' jobs if you still need volunteers that is. Let me know what time you want me there, I'm free all day. Cheers, Nate.

Feel free to come along this friday anytime after 4pm and see if there is anything needed to be done. I'me sure well find a task that needs doing.
