Forum signup questions are way too hard.
« on: January 10, 2017, 08:31:33 PM »
Hi guys,

The forum signup question is causing some problems as I think they're a bit too hard/vague.  I've had someone on the strava group discussions who can't get past the signup question.  (https://www.strava.com/discussions/club/2203/posts/483327/comments)

One question is  "Fill in the blank Ibis ____ HD:  "    I guess it's "MOJO" but most people would have no idea.

Another is "How many cogs (in text) does a 2 x 10 have?:"   I spose that's 10 + 2 = "twelve"?

I think these questions might be scaring off possible new members signing up to the forums who aren't familiar mtb frames & terminology.

Dave.

It is a bit tough when you are new.

Mind if you copy and paste the question to Google the answer becomes apparent. But not all people are as computer bais, it's my job I have to be, as I am and they are a little tough/intimidating. ;)

On the plus side since those sign up questions were put in SPAM posts dropped to next to nothing.

Thanks for the feedback.

I have tried to make the questions a bit clearer and have also added:

"What is the average airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?"

But unfortunately Alf, ive already got forum access. With questions like that you'd never let me in again!

Tony doesn't post much anymore either,  that reduced the spam :)

Al just I've added you as an admin to the strava club too.   Unless I added Alf,   it was one of you!

Which is a pity he was the life of the party when he was on fire.
