Hello and bike hire?
« on: June 27, 2017, 10:30:41 PM »
Hi! I moved to Melbourne from the UK a few months ago and keen to get back into my old hobby!

Anyone going riding this Saturday?

And also is there a shop to hire out a good hardtail (I'm 6ft 6 so trying to understand what's available so I don't end up breaking my back!)

Thanks :D

Nathan,
Welcome to the forum and Lysty.
Depending on the time you are riding a "bunch - sometimes 2 sometimes 6" head out at 7.30am from the Horswood road carpark.
Meet around the information board just to the right of the entrance gate.

Not sure of anywhere that hires out bikes locally - but if you make the right noises at your local bikeshop you can probably get one on the basis of trial to purchase.

some offer this at a fee and take off the purchase price of the bike.

Hope to see you out on the trails

Daz

Hi mate, from the UK myself, not sure where you can hire a bike to be honest, maybe enquire at turn local bike shop.
Am not riding this weekend but keen to ride most weekends. Give me a shout once you get a bike, I have transport for 2 bikes and passenger.
Cheers.
Mike.

BikeNow in the city have a good hire bike fleet. Otherwide try Yarra Vallry Cycled or see if Life of Bikes can help you out :)

Awesome, thanks for the info guys and great response on this forum :)

I'll try hire a bike for my first couple of goes and if I'm still into it I'll def be in touch for a weekend ride (it was about a decade ago I was last on a mtb to be honest so I may be pretty awful!)
