Title: 2016 Bright 24 hour
Post by: Brossie (Tim) on May 25, 2016, 12:37:40 AM
Expression of interest.

November 12 & 13 - Bright Victoria

We had an LDTR team (4) in last years race, and I was awesome fun. We are hoping to enter a few more teams for this year.

Basic details are:
Camp at the race site on Friday and Saturday night.
Race goes from 12pm Sat to 12pm Sun.
We'll set up an LDTR tent village right on the race line.
Cost is about $175 p/p including camping for 2 nights.
It'll be a great weekend away riding with pretty chilled vibe.

Put your name here if you are interested in being in a team of 4. Teams can also be mixed, or pairs.

Hey Guys early bird entries are open now until the 30th June 25% discount FYI.

I think we have two full terms so far!

I'd be keen to have a crack in a team of four if others are keen?

Would be great to have a big lysty village happening!

Travis, the way they've set it up this time lets you register individually, even as a team.

We'll definitely have a few guys keen to join a LDTR team. So why don't you do your rego with the team name LDTR 1. That way you get the early bird rate, and the others can join your team when they are ready to register. In the word case that no one else registers, I'm sure the B24 guys will change it to a solo.

Me, Doversby, Alf & Sonic have registered out team - Follow the Pumpkin.

Hope that helps. Tim

Thanks Tim,

I might have left it too late anyways - teach me to not keep track of this thread, anyways ive sent the B24 guys a quick message to double check they would be ok with me changing my 'team' entry at a later date to solo if required, and also to check that the early bird discount still applys 'today' - the 30'th given it runs out on the 30th...

Sounds good will be signing up for early bird under LDTR 1 tonight, Travis and Scriv are doing the same, Marcus has pulled out to other commitments, That's 4 so far with Ben as well...
If others are keen pretty sure we could fill a 3rd team

Hey guys, yep Dave Scriv and i have entered/ paid for the B24.

We have created a 4 person team LDTR 1.

Along with Dave (Baldydave) thats 3, if Ben joins us that LDTR 1 full.

Note, when you sign up if you are entering the B24 in a team, you need to select YES under Camping. This add's $20 to your entry fee, this covers you for the Sat night there. Note, there will be a fee if you stay Friday night too but i couldnt see any option to pay for this in the entry form so ive queried this with the B24 guys and ill let you know what i hear.

Early bird entry expires tonight. Early bird entry inc. camping Sat night = approx $121. Entry after tonight will rise to $155ish.

Travis.

Hey Y'all I missed out on the early bird entry but it sounds like I'm needed in the LDTR 1 team?

If so I'll register under that name.

Can anyone confirm?

B

Anyone else interested in coming to the B24 on Nov 12 & 13?

http://bright24hr.com.au/

We already have 2 teams of 4 registered. Most of us are heading up to Bright on the Friday arvo, camping the two nights, heading home Sunday arvo.

There are a couple of ways to ride in the B24 - the Traditional way and the Social way.

B24 - The Traditional way - This is raced in the usual relay fashion. One rider at a time from your team goes out for their stint, then tags with a team mate and the team mate then enters the course. The race starts at 12pm and finishes at 12pm on Sunday. Who ever has the most laps wins.

Esprit de Corps - The Social way - Team mates can race together and their time is accumulated until 24hrs of riding time is reached. The time does not have to be completed all at once. As you enter the course your time starts, and when you leave, it stops. Entry and exit are at control points.

Due to late withdrawal we have a spare spot on a team of 4 for the B24.
Team is two LDTR members and another mate.
Come and enjoy the full 24 hours with us, or do a few laps to help us out over the stretch.
You don't need to be a racing rocket. Just up for MTB ride around a ripper course, and a bit of a challenge.
If you,or someone you know is interested, let me know.

Hey Adam,
If the spot is still available, I'm interested.

My resume includes: Raced once at an FFLL.

Not the most experienced rider, but i'd give it my best shot :P

Cheers,
Nate.

Nate, and you are an OTB specialist (according to Pinkbike).

Adam, when are you guys going up? Do you want to join our ldtr tent city?

Nuts has retired from racing of any kind and Matt now spends his days taking selfies and creating new #'s.

Is #'s shorthand for #Cookies ?

Okie dokie, so I've just signed up to take Dave's spot on team 1, no way to avoid the pain now :-P

Silly question, but does anyone have a spare ldtr jersey they can loan me for the race? I wouldn't mind representing properly, but pocket money always seems low when the jersey orders are on so haven't grabbed one yet.
(promise I'll wash all the yuks out good and proper afterwards!)

Or if someone has one they don't want anymore I'd be happy to reimburse you for it

Hey Planko, yer ive got a couple though they are trail jerseys, not XC jerseys. Ill bring one extra.

A few of us are arriving at the race centre at about 6pm. We will have a big tent city set up, with the LDTR marquee, two Life of bikes marquees and tge Thule marquee. You cant miss us. There will be plenty of room to set up with us.

Its going to be an awesome weekend.

Awesome mate, trail is good with me, I'm not exactly sporting the xc physique ;-) appreciate that mate and I'll make sure I have some pennies set aside for the next order so I don't have to go begging again.

I was saying to Dave that I've got an awning on the side of the Ute, and inside the toolbox is a couple of batteries + lights + inverter for charging lights or phones. I'll also bring the work stand and toolkit just in case aswell - hopefully it's not needed but you can guarantee it'll be needed if I leave it at home.

At this stage I'll have to rock up Saturday morning, but if I can get out of work Friday I might come up in the evening.

Looking forward to it!
